Why Aren’t You Living Life on the Edge?

Why Aren’t You Living Life on the Edge?

On Monday’s article, one of the readers left this comment that really got me fired up. It’s a terrific comment that inspires me to want to do more and more with my life.

Remember Moody’s comment: set yourself on fire for God and let the world watch you burn? That does not speak of a life lived in balance, but rather of one where passion was pursued to the end, and there were lasting effects for eternity. Sadly, if we all live for balance, I think mediocrity is all we’ll get. Your thoughts? ~Trece

I thought that it was one of the Wesley brothers that said that but you’re probably right. But beyond that, I completely agree with you. I’m sick of seeing people do just enough to get by.

While I was home on vacation this past week, I committed to a friend of mine that we would go sky diving together when I get home even though both of us are utterly terrified of heights.

Why not live life on the edge? Why not go to extremes to spread passion, excitement and love to those around us? Why do just enough to get by? Is the couch so comfortable as to be willing to sacrifice our influence in order to enjoy it?

I’m not content to live my life like that, friends, and you shouldn’t be either. Get discontent with the way things are. Get angry at the status quo. For heaven’s sake, light a fire in your soul and spread the passion every chance you get!

    Yeah! Really great post.

There is presently no reason for satisfaction, keep working hard, keep doing it and there is a better future than now.

Thanks a lot for the great post,

I always live by four words, no matter what I’m doing, no matter the task – “You only live once”. Keep those words in mind. I’ve done many things – investing in a website that I now run included – because of those words.

    Why waste a golden bounty – life – because you’re afraid? It’s a waste!

That’s a beautiful post, Nicholas. The quote is beautiful, where can I re-read the original post (or is just the comment?).
But it’s sometimes hard to keep the fire burning, even if you are passionate. I’m usually pure fire during night time, and I loose the flow in the morning. And then I have to ignite it again, and again. again. I luv the process, but it’s a challenge to maintain that high energy.
